Solving Southern Lineage Mysteries through DNA and Archival Records

About Us

At Colonial Threads Genealogy, we specialize in turning confusing DNA data into clear family stories interpret results from all major testing companies—AncestryDNA, 23andMe, MyHeritage, and FamilyTreeDNA—using proven methods of genetic genealogy to uncover how your matches connect through real historical evidence.

We combine DNA interpretation with traditional record research, vital records, census data, probate files, and regional archives. Every theory is tested and confirmed through documentary proof, because DNA doesn’t lie, but it needs context to tell its full story.

Our work follows strict ethical and privacy standards built on years of hands-on experience solving real-life mysteries. We recognize patterns others overlook—endogamy, double cousins, and pedigree collapse—and use that insight to guide accurate, responsible conclusions.

We specialize in cases involving unknown parentage and adoption, as well as lineage and regional research for southern and colonial families, and in breaking down brick walls where DNA and documents finally intersect.

At Colonial Threads, our focus, skill, and passion for southern heritage bring clarity to even the most tangled treeshelping every client reconnect the threads of their story.

Our Research Philosophy

Genealogical and DNA research is a careful, time-intensive process that demands accuracy, ethics, and a steady hand. Every case is examined with meticulous attention to detail, combining documentary evidence and DNA interpretation to ensure that conclusions are sound and responsible.

Because every family's story is different, progress depends on the quality of existing records and the number of DNA testers available within your lines. Some mysteries resolve quickly. Others may unfold slowly as new evidence appears over time.

At Colonial Threads Genealogy, we believe in transparency and integrity. You'll always know where your research stands, and I will never continue billing if I believe the evidence has reached its limit. My commitment is to honest, ethical work that respects both your investment and your family's story
